The South Dakota Football Coaches Association's High School All-Star football game showcased remarkable talent, with several players earning special recognition. Played at the Dana J. Dykhouse Stadium of South Dakota State University on June 7, 2025, Team Blue dominated Team Red with a decisive 12-0 victory. Among the nineteen area seniors selected for this prestigious event, Cordel Rychlik from Aberdeen Central and Brooks Dolen from Waubay-Summit stood out due to their exceptional contributions. Dolen scored after recovering a fumble, while Madden Timmer from Brandon Valley added a touchdown run that electrified the crowd.
Achievements in the game were not limited to scoring plays alone. Cordel Rychlik’s stellar defensive performance earned him the title of Most Valuable Player (MVP). His two interceptions, two pass breakups, and six tackles were instrumental in securing Team Blue's win. Additionally, Brooks Dolen was honored as Defensive MVP for his four tackles, complemented by Ben Papke of Rapid City Central who claimed Offensive MVP honors for his role as center. The roster also included notable names such as Jeremiah Schulte and Spencer Wientjes from Watertown, Evan Stormo and Dawson Noem from Hamlin, all contributing to the Blue team alongside others like Preston Cavalier from Warner and Charlie Deiter from Faulkton Area.
Team spirit and dedication to excellence shone through during this all-star showcase. Players like Camron Eng from Castlewood, Jakob Guthmiller and Luke Lembcke from Sioux Valley, and Tanner Stein from Elkton-Lake Benton represented the Red Team with pride. With coaching support from Dusty Hourigan of Deuel and Billy Young of Aberdeen Roncalli assisting the Blue team, the match demonstrated the value of teamwork and perseverance.
